New to the Circus?
Never have I ever: If you have never done aerial circus before please only sign up for classes labelled *Introduction*. Beginner 1 is NOT for you… yet.
Introduction Silks/Trapeze
Saturday: Sept 10 – Oct 15, 2022; 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Previous Experience on Silks?
Beginner: You have taken a handful of classes or the Silks New class. You are working towards inverting in the air consistently and foot knots are your friend.
(For Firefly students Beginner 1 = Level 1, Beginner 2 = Level 2)
Intermediate: You have a few years of training. You can consistently do multiple inversions in the air and are comfortable with basic fabric theory and single rotation drops (like star drop). You can stay in the air for ~2 minutes.
(For Firefly students Intermediate 1 = Level 3, Intermediate 2 = Level 4)
Advanced: You can’t count the number of classes you have taken. You are a straddle pro, maybe you are working on straight arm inversions and hip key rollups. You like a brain-teasing fabric theory challenge as much as multi-rotation/stacked drops. You can stay in the air for over 3 minutes.
(For Firefly students Advanced 1 = Level 4-5, Advanced 2 = Level 5-6, Advanced 3 = done level 6 many times)

Previous Experience on Trapeze or Hoop (Lyra)?
Beginner: You have taken a handful of classes or the Trapeze New class. You are working towards straddles, pullovers, and holding a pull-up position.
(Beginner 1 = Firefly Level 1; Beginner 2 = Firefly Level 2)
Intermediate: You’ve been taking classes for a few years. You can do at least 1 pull-up, invert in the air (form bar and ropes), and single knee hangs feel strong. You can stay in the air for ~2 minutes. You are getting comfortable working in the ropes and maybe working on things like toe hangs, skin the cats and proper front balance form.
(Intermediate 1 = Firefly Level 2.5; Intermediate 2 = Firefly Level 3)
Advanced: You can’t count the number of classes you have taken. You can do multiple pull-ups, lift your legs to the bar and you are a pro at hangs and balances. You can hold a straight arm tuck for ~15-20 seconds. You can stay in the air for over 3 minutes. You are working towards dynamic transitions, drops, and rotations.
(Advanced 1 = Firefly Level 3.5; Advanced 2 = Firefly Level 4; Advanced 3 = Advanced Trapeze at Firefly)
